Sharing God

Spiritual Formation

We are formed into the likeness of Jesus as God’s Spirit initiates and guides a transformation of our minds, hearts, spirits, and actions. We participate in our spiritual formation as we seek to be available to God in this whole life process.

God meets and forms us:

  • As we worship.
  • As we listen to and learn from the scriptures.
  • As we pray and practice spiritual disciplines.
  • As we live in relationship with others.
  • As we attend to God’s presence in the ordinary experiences of life.
  • As we serve, using our unique gifts and passions for ministry.

Opportunities for spiritual formation through the gathered church:

Pray and Practice the Spiritual Disciplines

Live in Relationship with Others

Congregational LifeThe Congregational Life Committee sponsors regular fellowship events for the entire church family-- visitors, old timers, and everyone in between.  You are most welcome to attend any of our events. Upcoming events are posted on the calendar on this website and are also announced in church newsletters and Sunday bulletins.

Koinoniais a group of mostly older adults who gather monthly to fellowship together over a meal; to praise God for His work in our lives and to support each other in prayer. We generally meet the first Sunday evening of each month. We enjoy several social activities each year which include day trips; movie/pizza nights; concerts; visits to museums and camping trips. Singles & Friends

Singles & Friends provides times of fellowship and fun for adults.  We particularly welcome single adults, single parents and their children, and couples without children.  We join together about once a month to enjoy each other and the many great experiences Los Angeles has to offer.  For more information click here.

Sr. High Youth Group—a chance for Sr. High students (9th-12th grade) to hang out with friends and take a break from the pressures of the week. At youth group we get to know each other better through group activities, learn about faith in the real world, and talk to each other about the issues we face in day-to-day life. For more information about ministry with youth click here.

Youth Small Groups—several different age-based small groups for students in 7th-12th grade that meet throughout the week.  The purpose of these groups is to learn how to share about what is really going on in our lives in a safe environment.  This is a place where students come together and encourage each other, and get to know a trusted adult friend.
